Exceed Medical Microneedling / Collagen Stimulation with Microneedles
Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure. The specialist uses extremely fine needles to make tiny holes in the top layer of the skin. The damage caused helps stimulate the skin’s healing process, which is forced to produce more collagen and elastin, the proteins that keep skin firm and smooth.
Trivia
Most people get microneedling done on the face, but it can be done on the legs, back, neck, or other areas where the skin looks or is aged or damaged.
It is not the appropriate treatment for people with skin autoimmune conditions, such as psoriasis or eczema.
Before application, the specialist applies lidocaine gel (or another cream that numbs the skin) so that the procedure is completely painless.
Men or women who have the following indications: enlarged pores on the skin, fine lines or wrinkles, sagging skin, mild scars, especially those from acne or burns, discoloration or uneven skin tone, stretch marks. It may also be indicated in cases of hyperhidrosis or alopecia.
Once the procedure begins, you may feel a warm or scratchy sensation. Some people experience discomfort if the needles are near bony areas, such as the cheekbones. Finally, deep microneedling can cause minor bleeding. As for the procedure, it can take anywhere from 15 minutes to a few hours, depending on the size of the area being treated.
A few days (or even weeks) after microneedling, you may notice that your skin is warm, has a burning sensation, or feels tight. Some patients tend to notice dryness, or peeling, however this is treated with the use of a moisturizer.
