CΟ2 / Stretch marks - Scars
CO2 laser treatment aims to improve the appearance of the skin by removing the top layer and stimulating the formation of new skin cells. It is recommended for the treatment of skin diseases/conditions, such as acne scars, fine lines or wrinkles, and photoaging.
Trivia
The laser emits energy at a wavelength that is absorbed by the water present in the skin cells, thus removing the surface layer of the skin.
This treatment is performed by applying a large number of microbeams. The microbeams create ablation columns by penetrating the epidermis, while leaving the surrounding, healthy skin intact.
When the spot begins to heal after laser treatment, new skin begins to form, smoother, firmer, and more elastic.
CO2 is recommended for people with acne, acne scars, stretch marks, scars and melasma (a type of hypersecretion of melanin). It is also indicated for fine to moderate wrinkles, uneven skin tone, sun-damaged skin, acne scars, scars from diseases such as chickenpox, actinic or seborrheic hyperkeratosis. There is no age restriction.
It usually takes up to 6 weeks for complete healing from CO2 laser treatment. However, inflammation can last up to 6 months after treatment.
