Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)
This procedure reshapes the abdominal area by removing excess skin and fat. During the procedure, the Dr. Manoloudakis restores the weak muscle wall, creating the conditions for a more sculpted and flatter abdomen.
Trivia
Classic Abdominoplasty: For patients with moderate to severe sagging and moderate to severe excess skin above and below the belly button. Classic abdominoplasty restores the abdominal wall to its full extent, while also strengthening the muscle wall, if necessary. The incision is similar to that in mini abdominoplasty but typically extends longer, camouflaged in the swimsuit line. In some cases, it extends above the belly button.
Mini Abdominoplasty: Also known as a Mini–Tummy Tuck, it is recommended for patients with moderate sagging and moderate excess skin below the navel. The operation lasts from 2 to 3 hours depending on the case and is performed under general anesthesia. The incision is a simple thin horizontal line that does not extend across the entire width of the abdomen and the result is a flat abdomen.
Ideal candidates are individuals, both men and women, who are close to the ideal weight for their height, have no health problems, and have realistic expectations. Specifically, for individuals who:
- Diet and exercise have helped with weight loss, but the belly is still protruding and has lost its tone.
- After significant weight loss, there is excess loose skin.
- The abdomen protrudes and is loose, despite good physical condition.
It lasts about 3-4 hours under general anesthesia. Liposuction may be performed beforehand, if necessary. After the surgery, you are usually discharged the same day or the next day and the stitches are removed in about 2 weeks.
- Collection/Seroma (15%)

The following are not suitable candidates for this surgery:
- Patients who smoke
- Patients who have a Body Mass Index (BMI) >32
- Patients should refrain from lifting weights >10 kg and exercising/exercising for 4 weeks.
- During the first 10 days, mobilization/walking should be done with the torso bent forward to reduce tension on the scar line.
- It is normal to have swelling and bruising, which gradually subside in the first 6 weeks.
- Most patients return to their activities approximately 4 weeks after surgery.
- Immediately after the surgery, you will wear a corset that we will provide you. This corset should not be removed for the first 4-6 weeks after the surgery.
