Breast Augmentation

The goal of the surgery is not only to increase the size, but, mainly, to improve the volume and shape of the breast. Beyond these, there are a number of choices and decisions that you must make, always with the guidance & expertise of Dr. Manoloudakis. Do you want natural breasts like a “teardrop” or full natural ones? Should the incision be camouflaged around the nipple, or in the inframammary fold? And then, what is the right size of implant for your case? Finally, where will the implant be placed?

The questions shouldn’t scare you. In collaboration with Dr. Manoloudakis, you will make the best choices for your body, aiming for the breasts you have dreamed of.

Trivia

A 200cc silicone insert is equivalent to an extra bra size.

The usual recovery period is one week (patients return to work approximately 7 days after surgery.)

There are many different types and sizes of silicone implants. The selection of the appropriate one is made by the plastic surgeon, in collaboration with the interested party, depending on the specifics of each breast, as well as the desired result.

You can see the final result of the surgery before you even enter the operating room with the help of Vectra. Vectra is a unique 3D imaging machine, which simulates the result of the surgery you want to perform.

Who is it suitable for

Good candidates for the procedure are women with relatively small breasts, women who experience breast volume loss after pregnancy or breastfeeding, women who wish, for any reason, to have larger breasts. Finally, women with asymmetry in both breasts, who also want to increase their size, choose this procedure, simultaneously correcting the two issues that concern them (asymmetry, size).

The operation

The surgery takes approximately 2 hours and is performed under general anesthesia. After recovering from the surgery, the patient wears a special sports bra to support the breast and is usually discharged from the hospital the same day.

Possible complications
  • Collection/Seroma 15%
  • Creation of a shrinking capsule (10%)
  • Decreased sensation in the nipple area (10%)
  • Hematoma (5%)
  • Inflammation (1%)
  • Nipple asymmetry (1%)
  • Breast asymmetry (1-5%)
  • ALCL
After the operation

A special adhesive is placed on the incision site, which remains in place and is removed after 7 days. The patient must refrain from certain activities (e.g., lifting weights and doing intense exercise) for 4 weeks.

After the surgery, specific instructions are given on how to care for the area with a special moisturizing cream. Although the result is visible from the first days, the breast reaches its final proportions approximately 4-6 months after the surgery.

General Postoperative Instructions
  • Patients should refrain from lifting weights >10 kg and exercising/exercising for 4 weeks.
  • It is normal to have swelling and bruising, which gradually subside in the first 6 weeks.
  • Most patients return to their activities approximately 2 weeks after surgery.
  • Immediately after the surgery, you will wear a special bra that we will provide you with. This bra should not be removed for the first 4-6 weeks after the surgery.

Breast Lift

The operation is also called mastopexy. Its goal is to change the shape of the breast, and to restore the breast and nipples to their natural anatomical position. However, it does not only achieve this. The lift contributes to enhancing self-confidence, thanks to the improvement of your somatometric proportions. It also restores sagging skin and breast volume and puts the nipple/areola complex in place, revealing an aesthetically beautiful full youthful breast.

Trivia

If the nipples point downward, if they are in the submammary fold, or if they are below it, then there is an indication for this particular operation.

The lift can be combined with a reduction or augmentation, for the desired result.

Recovery takes around 2 weeks.

Who is it suitable for

Good candidates for the procedure are women after pregnancy, after significant weight loss, and also women who feel that their breasts are no longer as youthful as they would like (age has an effect on the appearance of the breasts and the texture of the skin).

The operation

The surgery lasts approximately 3 hours (the exact duration depends on the degree of sagging and the size of the breast), and is performed under general anesthesia.

Possible complications
  • Collection/Seroma (15%)
  • Healing disorders (5%)
  • Hematoma (5%)
  • Inflammation (1%)
  • Nipple asymmetry (1%)
  • Breast asymmetry (1%)

  • Most patients return to their activities approximately 2 weeks after surgery.
  • Immediately after the surgery you will wear a special bra that we will give you. This bra should not be removed for the first 4-6 weeks after the surgery. During these weeks you should not wear any other underwear (especially not underwired).

Breast Reduction

The aim of the operation is to reduce the size, and mainly the volume, of the breast. At the same time, breast lift is achieved as a final result. It is an operation chosen by women who suffer from pain in the neck, back, shoulders, etc. due to the size of their breasts.

Trivia

With breast reduction, better somatometric proportions are achieved in terms of body posture.

Recovery takes about 15 days (most women return to work in about 2 weeks).

Along with reduction, the plastic surgeon improves the symmetry between the two breasts, as well as their proportions.

This specific procedure removes excess skin and improves the nipple/areola complex.

Who is it suitable for

Good candidates for the surgery are women with excessively large breasts, women who suffer from breast volume and have back pain, or other symptoms, such as loss of balance.

The operation

After recovering from the surgery, the patient wears a special sports bra to support the breast and is usually discharged from the hospital the same or the next day.

Possible complications
  • Collection/Seroma (15%)
  • Healing disorders (10%)

Preoperative Contraindications

Candidates for abdominoplasty are mainly people who follow a balanced diet and control their weight.

  • Patients who smoke
  • Patients who have a Body Mass Index (BMI) >32
